Hi Ant, yes, unfortunately, here we go again...

Climate change should not be confused with 'weather'. Additionally, increased water vapour from warming oceans also can mean increased precipitation, and increased snow.

I live in Europe, and have done so for many years. The following article expresses what I've experienced here - that when it gets very cold here people are surprised. Example, I used to visit where I am now about twenty years ago, when we regularly had -20'C and even -25'C temps, and several foot of snow. Now if we get -10'C or -13'C we're shocked. As the Winters come and go, the average we notice is warmer. People here don't doubt climate change - particularly skiers and snowboarders who find their season much shorter, and with worse conditions. Same for old people here - before this last winter, the preceding two or three were so warm the old people were confused. The one before this one was so warm that people kept waiting for Winter to arrive, but then Spring came before it did. I've spoken to 80-year olds who said they've never seen such a winter in their entire lives.

You can't pick isolated events as examples. You must research wide-spreading global trends over many decades, as Janet has done in her article.
