I highly recommend a course at either Quail Springs with Warren Brush or at oaec.org with Brock Dolman. I took my PCD at Quail Springs and then spent 4 months as an intern on the farm and it was an amazing experience. Quail Springs is offering a PDC in October 2010, coming up! It is not super expensive and you can usually work trade to drop the price a bit! http://www.quailsprings.org/events/132-permaculture-design-certification-course-at-quail-springs
Ask me anything you like about Quail Springs I have spent a lot of time out there, they are extended family to me and I would send anyone out there and know they would learn a great deal. Thanks Darren for sending people this way!

G'day, Why don't you do a PDC with the excellent teachers in the CA such as Warren Brush at Quail Springs (Cuyama), Brock Dolman at Occidental, Penny Livingston (RDI) at Bolinas or Larry Santoyo at SLO...All of these folks were originally trained in Permaculture by either Bill or Geoff, have significant track records and are within 30 minutes or 8 hours drive of SLO + in some cases (such as at RDI) you can do the PDC a month at a time and pay it as you go....

All the best,

Darren J. Doherty

Sounds excellent, although the cost is too prohibitive to me.
I suppose to learn from the best you've got to make sacrifice.

This is exactly where I need to be, though I'm a poor student. I wish I could travel all the way to Australia, but I'm in California. Maybe once an event like this is happening in America, I will be able to attend. This week in my county is the largest Ag Show in the world, yet, they are all working under the same premise that we have infinite energy to continue their ways of massive agriculture. About two hours west of here, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, it appears as if they are making much closer steps to that of permaculture's importance - but not fast enough. Thank you for everything you've designed Mr.Mollison and Lawton, I've only followed ya'll for two quick years, but love everything I hear, read, and see.
