Great article. I have just returned from 10 wondrous days in Bali, six of which I either stayed or spent in Ubud... that place is indeed a gem, and what Nomad has in mind is what the friend I was travelling with wises to introduce. She is about to do a permaculture course and take that knowledge to Ubud to teach the locals the benefits of multi-cropping and organic farming to raise the production per acre, raise the nutritional value of the food, and also raise the monetary return for the locals there.

Great to hear there is a following already, the methods will be easier for her to introduce...

Nomad!
You are an inspiration to all of us! I currently have a villa in Pengosaken But come to the east coast often. I have become close with many locals in the village of Jasri.I am very interested to inspire them to grow organic food for their families here. Their is always an excuse as to why they don't take more of a pro active part in feeding their families. They tell me they sometimes live on just rice...if they even have that.
I think they just don't know how to get started and resources to help with the problems that may asrise. I would love to get a group from here together to meet you and see what you are doing.
If that is possible, please tell me when it is good for you and I can arrange it.
Thankyou for your love of the earth and this extraordinary island that is Bali.
Fondly,
Jennifer

This is just one wonderful man. An inspiring story thank you. May his belief spread as rapidly as it deserves. The Earth will thank all those who are not in Copenhagen but are planting, sowing, spreading respect and understanding of the natural resources we are blessed with. May I recommend November National Geographic which tells another story of optimistic change in India. Instead of passively hoping the monsoon rains will come on time, the villagers have built swales and trenches and have thus lifted the water table and their productivity. Similar to Peter Andrews method in Australia. Marvellous! Miraculous! Go Nomad!
