Nice story Sarina. Just want to mention to readers that non-composted organic material uses nitrogen in the decomposing process (it’s called Nitrogen draw down). Nitrogen promotes foliage growth so the leaves will yellow if they are affected. If you are careful to keep non-composted material on top it acts as mulch as it is breaking down.
