i am an Enviromental Volunteer, i hold a certificate in Land Rights and land Value capture.

Currently i am studying international Enviromental Law with a UN institute.

I am also a WWOFER, Helpx member, and organic volunteer. Please, can i intern with your organization for three or six months?

Restoring soil health is a bi-product of good management, we have the knowledge, it seems to take a “leap of faith” to make the paradigm shift into using a new “tool kit” for farming. This would include 1. Permaculture Principles and Ethics, 2. Peter Andrews Natural Sequence Farming 3. Dr. Elaine Ingham’s understanding of Soil Inoculums (compost tea) 4. Dr. Christine Jones at “amazing carbon” 5. “Waste to Wealth” managing waste and making a applying quality compost to revitalized degraded soils from Paul Taylor http://www.trustnature.com.au and more………like Eric Harvey etc

I’d give a lot to be going to this. But it’s a long trip from Holland! I watched Peter Andrews on ‘Australian Story’ & everything he has on Youtube & think he’s absolutely heroic. That fly-by over what used to be his farm says it all. I am delighted that AS made his work more visible & has gathered him a following. People like him are worth their weight in gold – actually priceless for Australia having a hope of reaching land-healing & food-security. Bill Mollison says Oz is not a drought continent, the water must be managed/slowed down, used.

Australia should a) heed & follow both Peter & Bill’s advice on a massive scale and b) give each a knighthood (or the equivalent). I hope both legends are alive and kicking & going great guns when I finally get to Oz in a couple of years: and I hope Peter’ll take an apprentice for a month or so & i get to sit in with some learning with Bill.

Have a great Retoration day (and video lots of it for us on Youtube, please!!!!)

IMHO, the key is in retaining as much organic matter as possible, regardless of the amount and regularity of precipitation the area is subjected to.

Where organic matter is chronically insufficient, it may be critical in the long term sustainability objective pursuit of any interested party to supplement with imported organic matter like compost, mulch and even bio-char.
