Saving civilization would be made possible by elitists adopting a permaculturist lifestyle. Instead of sterilizing young people and advocating population control, end militarism and hyper-ecological-exploitation. Look up Ecoscience, by John Holdren, Anne & Paul Elhrich. Holdren is Obama's science czar who is trying to erase the impression that his book ever advocated a top down approach to population control. The reality is that eugenics is a very serious movement with sinister momentum.

saving Civilization requires change of heart from the civilized people from materialist hedonism to self(God) conscious human.
As modern man has become rudderless hence requires a leash from within the spirit to lead him to humanity.

I agree with some statements in this article and disagree with others. I would first like to say the HIV problems persisting in developing nations are due to them being targeted by eugenicist programs, specifically the HIV virus in the innoculations being givin to these people. This is fully documented and those leading the way are proud of it. I completely disagree with population control, it's not the problem. Our greed has caused a rate of consumption in which is not sustainable.

Regarding the man-made climate catastrophe (previously called global warming, then climate change), is a hoax. Our planet and its systems are too complex for us to ever understand. How can we say the changes in our climate are man driven? Regardless of wether we are the sole problem, you can not stabilize our climate. It is constantly changing, has changed without the help of man, and will continue to change regardless of what we do.

Finally, we do have the technologies to solve a lot of the real problems; however, here in the U.S. our government is trying to make it impossible for us to implement these technologies because it takes control out of their hands and makes us all more independent of their systems. In other words, sustainability is not profitable to the greedy elite who have been allowed to control everything.

"Saving civilization is not a spectator sport. Each of us has a leading role to play."

Saving civilization? I'd like to see Lester Brown in a room with Derrick Jensen. Talk about extreme opposites.
