Good news indeed - we don't need mega-corporations owning patents on the food we eat. Just a quick look at Monsanto's history shows what sort of people they are - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsanto#Environmental_and_health_record

Looks like there's some hope, this side of the Atlantic, on banning the poisonous GM's & Monsanto's (and other corporations) growing stranglehold on world food.
Newly hatching laws in England regarding politicians having to declare other financial 'interests', besides what they earn in Parliament should mean that it is harder for corruption to seal our collective future. Harder for those not elected in any form from calling the shots. USA politicians serve no-one but themselves (in the bank) & are puppets to the corporations & their well-oiled lobbyists. So, let's hope that the new UK laws stop elected 'public servants' from following the USA's dire & hopelessly corrupted path: a system that allows corporations to 'own' policies & decisions that their 'bought' politician makes. This Faustian arena is possible because no American candidate can get past emergence without vast sponsorship from corporations before they ever gain any real power.
Thank goodness some Europeans have their eyes open. US voters appear to have their eyes wide shut, ignoring their watchdogs & whistle-blowers & independent science.
Some hope! Yay!

There is a growing concern in the US that GMO foods maybe causing un-explained allergic reactions such as Lyme or Morgellons. Gmo foods are not labeled in the US, so doctors do not have the ability to make a gmo-alergy determination.

Germany, France, Austria, Greece, Hungary and Luxembourg have recently banned GMO maize farming, despite EU safety approval underwrited by large US seed corporations that want to dominate the worlds seed market.
