Over the last fifty years, and particularly over the last thirty, there has been a mass trend of urbanisation as industrial agriculture pushes people off their land. Where do they go – they annex themselves to city centres in urban tin-shed slums. Instead of plugging into the globalised model, that is now beginning to collapse, we need to stop, and reverse this trend by ‘teaching people to fish’. Help people to remain on the land, and help those that have been disenfranchised to return. And, as first-worlders, we can remove our support from the governments and corporations that are driving this madness.
