Northeast Permaculture and Beyond: An Organizational Vision
How can we organize global Permaculture efforts and still be effective in our local communities?
How can we build groups that sustain themselves after the Design Course is over? How can we create BioRegional and Regional networks to share information and resources?
We envision growing Permaculture from a strong base of integrated local community groups. Recent developments in the Northeastern United States act as a concrete example. (518) 610-1375

Permalot in Czech Republic
Over the hills, through the woods, and at the end of a dead-end road; that’s where you’ll find the little Hamlet of Bouzov Svojanov; a 600 year old village with a present-day population of only 20 people.
It is also here that you will find our ecovillage initiative where we seek to create a model for rural sustainability and in doing so seek to return life to a village almost abandoned by the modern migration to the city.
PermaLot was established as a Czech civic association in the year 2000. So far we have purchased 10,5 hectares of forest, meadows, fields and orchards which we are converting to certified organic and managing following permaculture principles.
IDEP newsletter - One year after the Tsunami
It has been just over one year since the devastating Asian Tsunami changed the region forever. Since then there have been so many other tragedies in the region and worldwide. IDEP extends its heartfelt sympathies to all those that have suffered so greatly. We also extend our best wishes to the thousands of people all over the world that like us continue to work tirelessly to try and bring some relief and education for sustainable development to the areas most effected by the events.
Here at IDEP we have been very busy with the ongoing implementation of our recovery programs in Aceh, in addition to focusing on revitalizing our programs here in Bali and nationwide in Indonesia. Our programs are progressing well thanks to supporters worldwide and our outstanding Indonesian and expatriate team members who have been supported by many local & international volunteers.
